Jonathan Handelzalts Ph.D.
I’m a clinical psychologist working in a private practice and as a lecturer. I teach clinical psychology at the Tel-Aviv Jaffa academic college and in the school of health professions in the Tel-Aviv University.
As a psychologist I work from a dynamic-humanistic perspective. I see behavior as based on the unconscious but also on other major forces such as the need for self fulfillment and the quest for personal meaning. I like to see myself as a companion on the way that helps people use the crisis or difficulty that brought them to treatment as an opportunity for change and growth.
As a researcher, my main interests are the study of psychological treatment effectiveness, personality assessment as used in clinical and occupational practices and medical psychology.
